Didn’t anyone else feel like they were paying homage to the greatest Christmas movie, Die Hard?
Feels like about 9/10 of those things you’re calling “stupid” apply to countless TOS/TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT episodes, so that’s a pretty obvious double-standard.
yeah after a bunch of “the shields are weak” dialogue i am not sure why this is an issue, especially when it is Trek and maybe we are just going to learn about some new special transporter badges next week. this is not a problem!
There must be some kind of informal rule at Starfleet wherein every officer must overcome a hijacking at least once in their careers in order to gain promotion up the chain of command.
Oh no, the Orion Syndicate Emerald Chain has taken over the Discovery!
Shit. It’s been a year.
I too thought he was going to snap his fingers or do the De Lancie twist of the wrist. “Qarl, with a Q.”
He was giving me a ton of Time Lord vibes.
So the Guardian of Forever disguised itself as a quaint human with a taste for fetching headgear.
Do the dark troopers not have a deactivate-knob on that dashboard?
I think my favorite moment in the episode was when Tig Notaro showed up. The whole thing was hilarious, and Stamets even asked the question I wanted answered, “where have you been?!?!”

I truly don’t get why Georgiou is getting any kind of redemption arc. She’s a mass genocider who ate people - how has that just been ignored? Yeoh is the reason I guess - would be a real shame to lose her, but I keep looking at them talking to Space-Hitler as if she’s just a troubled teen and it’s baffling.
I just finished this show over the weekend and it is absolutely my favorite show of 2020...and because of Covid...I’ve watched way too much other stuff. Here are my reasons:
1) I end each episode with a big, huge grin.
Only the "good guys" on this show are even remotely morally ambiguous. Everybody else is just a complete shitbag.
Moral ambiguity? What show are you watching?
Ahhh so good!
I’d still prefer this show to take the Bridge Crew seriously. I think that the contrast would be better, rather than it being a ship full of quirky screwups (which it really was this episode), but at it’s core, the show is in the right place. It’s less a branded parody, than a proper Trek show that’s more focused on…
that is fantastic
