I missed this post, but I’m glad to see you back, Steve! I pass your car lot all the time when I’m home; it was always cool seeing the posts on here and thinking “I see that car every day.”

A little of column A, a little of column B, I think. A new visitor to Oppo would find a fair share of posts where we exhibit loving care towards our cars, like detailing and wrenching, but they might also find some of our autocross/hooning stuff LOL.

Great tips! I like the part about looking for subtle clues about the previous owner’s personality, and what those attitudes might mean for the vehicle’s otherwise mysterious history. I’d much rather find stickers saying “support your local library” than a bunch of energy drink logos.

Great video with good points, especially that it’s more important who owned a vehicle and how they treated than what brand it is. Seriously great job!

It’s actually harder on the car if I’m reading because I run into more stuff.

The Escort - a model designed exclusively for hourly rentals that would have featured unique toys and a fold-out bed.

Interesting that the current generation is so favorable reviewed... Does it still get classified midsize in the ranking by size?

Interesting read. My mom had a 93 Taurus with the 3.8. Almost zero issues until 80K, then of course lost the head gasket, car was worth so little by then that she walked, went to Toyota, hasn’t looked back.
