I can answer that: even mild engine braking while (normal) braking slows the car down MUCH faster than just using the brakes!

Every pull of the paddle shifts gears and releases some sort of giddiness into your system at just how great it is. I'm going to name my first child PDK.
While the race car weighed just 620 kilos, the road-going Super Turbo clocked in at 770.
Paddle shifts come incredibly quickly, with no real hanging when you hit redline. It's a smart gearbox, too. No need to lift off the throttle when you change gears, and when you roll to a stop it defaults back to first gear so there's no awkward, jerky shift involved. That's nice.
Seems like it's a loophole to retain resale value, since deprecation is a % of MSRP and not actual prices paid...
