Funny you mention GTA. As the original (top down) was the first demo that really stands out for me. That and Wolfenstien, and Doom (of course) but I remember wasting HOURS on the original GTA demo and never caring how many times I beat it. lol

I don't know if you're old enough to remember... but this was normal back in the day on PC and Playstation. hell, most of my old games I ended up buying were all because of timed/limited demos. This has been one of my biggest gripes over the past 15 years is that demos have, effectively, vanished. And that's sad.

I think you were reading too deeply into my comment. Games, portable or not, have only been growing in size. BF4 was the first thing I could think of, and was simply used as reference.
