The problem with GM is they dumped billions into the various platforms that Caddy has used over the years-for what? They maybe good/great cars-but at the same time business decisions haven’t been the greatest since how can they make a profit off them?

Its also the same reason why Lincoln (unfairly IMO) gets raked over

My parents kept mine, but its in such bad shape that I might as well chuck it anyways

Caddy is still trying to be an American BMW

Lincoln is trying its own thing

Its snob appeal....also why its zero sum game to chase the Germans like Caddy is doing-if someone wants a BMW, they are going to buy the BMW, not the Caddy CT6. Thats why Caddy should try doing its “own” thing vs trying to be a German Luxury car knock off.

In the grand scheme of things the Continental is doing fine vs its competition-Namely Caddy.

Percentages make things sound worse then they are-sales are down 30%!!! When its just a difference of 300 less cars sold in a month.

Exactly-that was my wife’s response

Perhaps because the Edge at one point was the best selling product in its class?

No, they are their own little separate shithole in MD.

bbuuuuutttt....Erin Gray! :)

I used to nail empty garbage cans (plastic) with my 86 Escort GT (had a bra on it since the paint was so horrible/soft on it) when I was driving home from school and dropping friends off. I did that till I got one caught under the car and my buddy had to pull it out. We got a good laugh out of that one!

I get what you’re saying, but it (for the most part) still only benefits the dealership by doing that.

Just as an example, I got my $47K SHO for under 40 between incentives and A plan pricing. Dealerships don’t “make” money (maybe in financing-depending on person’s credit) and they get a check directly from Ford to

They aren’t going away...dealership owners and mega dealership owners weld too much political power to allow States to change their franchising laws to allow it. I can see issues both ways, but I’ve only seen dealerships (or at least salespeople who work for them) argue for keeping the way things are now. I’m a big

Given the fact that the US is just about double the size of the EU...its lot easier to have a great train system if you’re roughly the size of Washington state with 82 million people living in it aka Germany. Then again the Autobahn sucks there at times because you don’t have alternative routes and if there is a bad

So...how much more unsafe is a 2005 Ford Five Hundred vs a 2015 Ford Taurus? Given the advances in crash protection over the past 20-30 years...there really isn’t that much more that can be improved upon vs cost/weight with cars that have been made in the past 10-15 years.

The major reason car dealerships suck (well most of them) is the franchising laws that dealerships have with state governments. This makes them into major political players and prevents Automakers from doing direct sales to clients (well 99% of them and Tesla is being beat up by them in some states) and makes it much

I’m starting to get this feeling that episodes 7-9 are going to be rehashes of 4-6...not necessarily a bad thing to a point since Disney wants to introduce Star Wars to a new generation and trying to do that with a 40 year old sci fi film and its effects from the same era isn’t going to cut it with younger people.

The issue my wife and I have that gets really awkward is people asking you at work (or people you don’t know directly) if you have kids or going to have kids and then you explain your wife is a cervical cancer survivor (she was diagnosed about 8 months after we got married) and that makes them feel bad for asking and

This stems from Silicon Valley trying to expand their markets..that why you see this big push for AI and self driving cars...the current IT market is mature with little room for growth or potential. What they fail to realize is that people’s experiences with electronics that they’ve developed over the past 20-30 years

The 2600 was the shit in the late 1970's...by 1982 it was long in tooth vs what else was on the market.

Say what!?!!? The 5200 had hardware/performance that was similar to what the Atari 800 was offering, since the 800 was out in 1979 and the 5200 was out in 1982. The 7800 was born after the video game crash and never really was well supported and at that point I moved on to Commodore 128 (in 64 mode 97% of the time)
