It’s a sham because overworked employees and delivery contractors like UPS can’t possibly fulfill all the orders on time. Rather than lose their most powerful client, they lie about whether packages got delivered.

They hook you in the beginning with a gimmick. Then once they have you, they take the gimmick away. But you’re so deep in that it’s difficult to get off the treadmill. That’s the business model of Amazon. Well, any company really, I guess.
