Edit: Frankly I considered tracing over the image from screenshot but I figured someone would point that out. Besides, I actually think his body shape in the rendered image is worse.

....you have so effectively missed the point of my post that I'm honestly not sure I should bother replying....but what the hell:

The point of my post was that damn near every single thing about the character sucks at this point.....except for his character design. Sonic the Hedgehog is practically the Garfield of

Ok, fine, you caught me. It's not technically classic sonic, it's just the best picture I could find when I put "sonic silhouette" into a searchbar. To be fair though, its much more reminiscent of classic sonic then most of the dreamcast era illustrations which were more like this:

Here's something to illustrate the point that this is not just sonic fans crying because they can't deal with things being different. See how much weaker the new silhouette is? I prefer Classic sonic but even the dreamcast era was much stronger.

Pikachu did not have "one of the greatest character designs of all time". The redesigns he went through made his silhouette much stronger and were much much better. The same is true of Bugs Bunny....up to a certain point.

What do you call what they're doing here?

For the record, I do not claim to know how to fix the Sonic franchise. I'm not sure anyone does. I just know that a character redesign isn't it.

Not exactly. Other designs like the dreamcast era were less of a deviation than the current one. You can argue that its a somewhat natural progression....but its also been a pretty terrible one tbh.

Please, show me a design tweak in the last few years that's as drastic as this one. They might have made slight alterations to his proportions and changed things like his eye color, but this is clearly the biggest departure....aside from one off designs that were never used consistently. Seriously, I can show you

My biggest problem with the character design is his silhouette. I know the prior design tweaks alread adjusted his proportions, lenglength, etc. somewhat but its really a major regression in design. Old school sonic's silhouette is much more distinctive and interesting.

I prefer Classic Sonic.

Radically changing a character design for the purposes of finding a larger audience is fine and sometimes even necessary necessary to reach a new generation. Its why I don't mind redesigns to Superhero costumes.

But the point I made and you've overlooked is that Sonic's character design is the

Memo to Sega: Sonic the hedgehog is one of the greatest character designs of all time. No I am not being hyperbolic, and I can back that statement up.

To this day Sonic still not only has a fanbase, but actually manages to attract new younger fans today. Why the hell do you think that is when the character has only

Lightsabers are cool. I own several. I play around with them all the time. The thing I don't understand is why people bother with some kind of "academy" for it. Its almost the equivalent of having a Larping academy to me. You don't need classes to learn how to goof around with your friends with glowsticks is all

The point I'm making is that whatever differences and conflicts may exist between a lightsaber and a traditional blade as well as styles, the basic fundamentals of swordplay are still the same and learning a traditional sword discipline will do more to teach you those than twirling and banging glowsticks around with

I don't think there's any harm in it. I just....don't understand it.

I contest this argument.
First off, let's forget the argument of weight because by that logic the glowstick is just as suspect.

Don't get me wrong: I don't think I've gone a single day of my life without picking up a stick and spinning it around humming under my breath. I'm the last person who would judge anyone for playing Jedi.

That being said...I'm not sure I really understand this movement. If you're inspired by the lightsaber fights in

F2P is the future of the industry, and people had best make peace with it.

TF2 is the gold standard of F2P. Every game that wants to use a F2P model should follow their guideline.

Indeed. That woman is straight up #*@#ing gorgeous. I'm convinced that she is at the very least a mix of human and a tossup between a god or a Tolkien Elf.
