I think expectations have a changed a little since then as the medium (videogames) has evolved, but that's a good point. It doesn't get much cheesier than the voice acting in 2, and 2 is one of my favorite games of all time.

Yeah, I can see your point. And to be fair, playing a part in a videogame isn't nearly the same as acting in a live action movie/tv show, so he might be fine for the part either way.
Yeah, I 100% agree with you. I've been playing since the beta, but even at this point it doesn't feel like a full game. I can't wait for the second though, one they've fleshed things out.
I actually played almost every single Silent Hill. And it's definitely fair to say they changed quite a bit after 4 (maybe after 3, honestly), but they were at least trying to stay authentic with 5 and 6 (too lazy to type names), it's just that the Silent Hill Team wasn't working on them anymore.
I still think it's an awesome game, and somewhat paradigm-shifting (in that I think a lot of other games are going to be taking gameplay from Titanfall fairly liberally), but you're right, the big issue is that at the end of the day, almost every match type is fairly similar.
I know, I freely admit that it's possible he doesn't suck anymore. I'm just answering the OP's question. Hopefully he does well!
Yeah I know, and I agree. As I was saying to Super Arppis, I just don't want them to mess with style of SH too much, since before everything else, that's the thing that really makes the series for me.
I respect him (I like MGS), I'm just wary when a series with a very specific feel is picked up by someone who has such a distinct style. But hopefully you're right.
I love Silent Hill (I love the games and I love the movies), but I'm skeptical as to how Kojima is going to handle this. However, if anybody can put some new life in the series, it's del Toro, who is fantastic when it comes to horror.
I can't help but find it a little ironic that when MS does something like this, people call it "shady," when every website on the internet purposefully creates headlines like this every day "to get hits." So even if MS did try to mislead people about this, they're no worse than every click-hungry (Kotaku included)…
Yeah, MS probably could've been a little (a lot) more clearer about which of its services truly required online connectivity, and why. At the end of the day though, knee-jerk reactions are what rule the internet (well, the real world), so it's no surprise that people weren't willing to instantly accept new/different…
How so? Was it intended only to give access to a few levels or something?
What you're referring to isn't what he's referring to. MS was trying to rollout a system in which you could lend other people your games. That didn't preclude physical games, it just meant that stuff on your XB1 could be shared with other people.
Really? That was never what I heard. I'm not saying your wrong, but that certainly was not my understanding of the service they were rolling out.
Probably because it's coming out after 2 Dark Souls games (meaning it literally does succeed them).
This might be sad news, and it might be good news. If rumors were true, and he and the lead writer of ME3 were the only ones working on the ending, it might be a good thing to shake things up a little. Bioware is a pretty talented group, so I think they'll be okay.
Huh?
While I think from the perspective of selling the XB1 as having exclusives this is a dumb idea, if it gets a sequel made, I'm all for it. Ryse wasn't everyone's idea of a good game, but I thought it was a lot of fun (the combat was simple but very satisfying), and had great potential for a more polished sequel.
Yeah, it's the only thing I dislike about his art. His style is super iconic, and he did a lot of things for the manga and anime industries, but you could definitely see the downsides to his approach when you compared Chrono Trigger with Dragonball/Z/GT. Although Magus is still an awesome character design, I think.…
