Technically speaking, it’s only abuse of power when there are penalties, downsides, and/or limits to its exercise. Clearly, there are none any more. Anything he does from this point forward is using power, with no checks, no restrictions, and no restraints.

That one’s a troll. Best to flag and dismiss.

No, the claim that “hot women turn me on” is his beard.

If the cops in your area still use ‘em as patrol vehicles, kinda? Sort of a rare thing any more.

*yawn*

I love, love, love that his go-to periodical for show-and-tell is the Fisher-Price of newspapers and the welcome mat in front of every suite door in every La Quinta and Comfort Inn location in the US.

If by “2010 you mean “May, 2018,” then I agree, because that’s when the backup-camera regulation went into effect.

I’m not tracking the thing; it’s a DD that spends 90% of its operational life in rush-hour traffic. Its overall average speed since I bought it: 22.3 mph. Right tool for the right job.

I just don’t like the distraction of the stupid thing beeping and chirping and dinging and vibrating and demanding my attention. It’s a tool that I own, not a tool that owns me, which means I decide—not it—when it gets used.

Don’t mistake my evaluation of their situation as an endorsement or a recommendation. If I had the money to invest I’d be shorting them hugely.

I’m aware. Have had a lot of time to get used to the idea. Haven’t bought a new car in over twenty years as it is, so I’m more than okay with used.

Have a 10AE in the garage, so yes, Miata. Agreed.

In other words, the features I want to see in a new car that I’m willing to pay money for are no longer made for the NA market, yes.

It’s like people believe I think the entire auto industry should cater to my desires and make things I want, for some reason. A very strange thing, but it is what it is, I suppose.

Wasn’t anything in my price range at the time I was in dire need of a vehicle and the deal on this one was incredible since it’s a nearly featureless fleet model and they probably got tired of looking at it on the lot. Not what I was in the market for specifically but right place, right time, right price, so I’ll own

It applies to vehicles built in or after May 2018, so there’s still a lot of backstock. And it’ll be the latter, I’m sure.

I did manage to do pretty well between the S&L crash and the dot-com bust. Before and after those periods, though? Accurate.

No subtext here. I lack both the capability as well as the desire.

That just means I’ll never own a car newer than a 2018 model. I’m okay with that.

Don’t forget Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, Kanye West, and Tucker Carlson.
