Eh I don’t really buy that. There were lots of ways that the trilogy could have gone off in a different direction after the Force Awakens, and I don’t necessarily blame JJ for doing what he did. He was only signed on to do one movie, the hints and foreshadowing he placed were fairly clear and could have been easily

How did the first film do a bad job in setting up the trilogy? There were some great new characters, it expanded the world a little, laid some teasers for what was to come. It’s not JJ’s fault that Rian pissed all of that down the drain.

I think you just didn’t get how time travel works the first time. Tilda Swinton explains it: When you go back in time and alter something, your own timeline is not affected, a new timeline splits off and creates an alternate universe. This can have significantly bad complications (taking the Time Stone out) or

Bollywood wouldn’t be caught dead making something with this little energy and enthusiasm.

People keep talking like it was so obvious that she would do this but come on now. When in the entire series has Dany ever hurt an innocent? She locked up her dragons for killing an innocent, she has refrained from attacking cities (Essos and Westeros cities) because of the potential fallout of killing innocent

What on earth in the last 7 seasons indicated that Dany would murder thousands of children?

I mean it’s pretty shit storytelling if a preview did a better job of illustrating her madness than the actual show.

Ok but going by her own words “they can live in my new world or they can die in their old one” they had literally just surrendered so that they could live in hers. The guards had laid down their arms before the bells were even rung. Even then, she knows that the citizens of Kings Landing had nothing to do with it yet

This is Game of Thrones. I fully understand having Dany go off the deep end and become the Mad Queen. But there wasn’t enough to justify it. Even her father, likely one of the craziest and evilest people in the entire history of Westeros, refrained from killing all of the people in King’s Landing until after he had

Yeah because this show has totally glossed over evil rulers and tyrants and whatnot.

There is a vast, vast gulf between killing a couple of leaders that turned against you/killing a slaver population and murdering an entire city full of ostensibly your subjects because... why exactly? This is the woman who locked away her 3 children because one of them accidentally killed one child, who refrained

The most fucked up part is that somehow Euron knew to pull her and her alone out of the water and capture her, even though he’s never seen her before and has no clue of her importance.

Apparently they can reload those massive ballista instantly considering the autofire that was happening in her direction. Also they can apparently fire them straight through rocks considering Dany didn’t have line of sight to them until after they came around the corner yet they still hit Rhaegal.

Then set it at night and light it with the moon. Or if you’re dead set on lighting it with natural fire, have them light a bunch of bonfires to be able to see the oncoming horde and know how close they are (instead of sending a thousand horsemen to their deaths in the dark). Build up the claustrophobia by having

Worst and most dire? The main characters had so much plot armor they might as well have put it in the plot it was so obvious. Numerous times we see the characters surrounded by hundreds of white walkers only to cut back to them and see there’s only maybe a dozen. Jon Snow standing in the middle of the field with all

Is this a fucking documentary? They didn’t have to set it at night. There are way better ways of showing night scenes than this did. Case in point: Helms Deep.

To be clear, I’m not super miffed about it having been spoiled for me since I already had it spoiled by a friend the day of (and as you said it’s not exactly unexpected). I just want to make it clear that while there is an amount of time at which spoilers are acceptable, two days after a movie comes out is not it.

I have midterm exams this week. This is the one break I’ve taken and someone spoils it on a GoT thread.

Nope, I honestly think he’s gone. They have 3 more episodes left and they still have to fight Cersei. There’s no way they could bring back the Night King.

Totally agree. Watching at the end with all of the dead attacking the few remaining people left and somehow all of them are main characters that somehow haven’t died yet made it feel really cheap.
