Patrick Ewing?
Do you consider Stalinist Russia to be fascist? Mao’s China? Mugabe’s Zimbabwe?
“a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition”

I think your view of fascism is too narrow. You are focusing on the alt right when you have fascists within all angles of the political spectrum. Left, right and center. Progressivism isn’t juxtaposed to fascism by definition. Any lean toward ideological hegemony is a step in that direction.
No. Because those north Seattle neighborhoods were designed for the middle class, not the rich. They were the white flight suburbs of the 80s.
You’re tracking that the “ok” symbol was never a symbol of white supremacy. It was a joke created by reddit and 4chan commenters. The joke was to take the most harmless symbols and gestures and see if they could convince people, specifically the news media, that they are racist codes. It was a prank to highlight how…
You are correct. So gravel roads without sidewalks aren’t necessarily an indicator of implicit racism as the article implies.
Ever been to north Seattle? Million dollar homes lined with gravel and no sidewalks.
If you research PRISM, you’ll find out that Apple required a warrant to participate unlike every other company. They were also the last domino to fall while google was a participant from its inception. And yes, the federal government was financially reimbursing these companies for access.
That’s along the lines of “I don’t care if the government/citi bank/the kremlin monitor my phone calls, I have nothing to hide!”
No. Its about their revenue streams. Alphabet makes its largest portion if income off of targeted advertising. Apple makes it off hardware. People pay Apple to store data whereas google offers this service for free in the exchange for monetizing user information.
Apple didn’t have any losses. They still profited around $54 billion last quarter alone. What happened was they told investors they project $89 billion in revenue and only hit $84 billion. These aren’t losses we’re talking about.
Apple doesn’t run the internet’s largest advertising agency.
Last quarter was their second highest revenue ever. The doom and gloom is based on projections, not performance. Apple is fine.
Having been to China, Korea, Japan Thailand and Malaysia recently, the iPhone is king in Southeast Asia. Maybe not in total sales, but in status. You can’t claim to be upper middle class or better if you don’t have an iPhone.
The problem with Google is they are ultimately a marketing company. Access to users is their product. Data, advertising, and traffic taylored from your living habits, conversations, web history, etc. They have some great services, if you don’t mind them knowing everything about you, packaging it and selling it to whom…
