I slept most of today, despite a completely uneventful week. I think I might have caught a case of cat.

Jezzies, I need music suggestions! I'm putting together a jazz mix I can belt out in the car, but I don't normally listen to much jazz. Here's what I've got so far:

@vee: Since everyone else answered your basic question, I'll just say that Vision Direct is usually cheaper than 1-800-Contacts and sometimes offers deals on shipping or sales. I really like them.

I think I may be getting cynical. I'm sort of watching TV, and a commercial came on that was all, "did you know it's possible for someone to love you for exactly who you are?" and I looked up fully expecting it to be an animal adoption ad. It was for eHarmony.

@Ginger Gal: I had this recently, and what really disturbed me was that I was sleeping in the living room, in front of my open patio door, and what brought me into the semi-conscious state was that I heard something on the patio. I'm pretty sure now it was the cat throwing herself against the screen to get at a

@pileofmonkeys: Sounds considerably less combative than my response was. :) I was absolutely heartbroken that it came from this particular uncle. I hate that Facebook is so efficient at telling you the people you love sometimes think abysmally stupid things.

@pileofmonkeys: I got into a huge Facebook fight this week with a normally open-minded uncle who was spewing this shit. Fortunately, several of his friends also pointed out the assholery.

@emdy: Agreed and agreed! I'm hoping someone decides to organize sympathy rallies for people who can't go to DC.

@RousseMacabre, from Ravenclaw: A friend lent me a book by Piers Anthony once, and I was afraid to write anything for MONTHS, because what if I was as bad as this guy, who got published, and my friends loved me too much to tell me?

@talk_hockey_to_me: "Violet, make a force field around the plane!" Glad I'm not the only one who cries during an animated children's movie.

I'm just glad to see a Republican finally admit that feminists can be pro-choice, tolerant, and respectful of freedom of religion. Can someone remind Sarah Palin?

@NellMood: It drives me crazy that my name is included on the wedding invites that get sent to my parents - 3000 miles away. Because I'm not married, so I'm still the property of my father, or something. Also, I have yet to receive a thank-you card for a wedding gift. But my parents get them (if it's a family member)!

@OnlySlightyTrampy: I've been reading Mark Reads Harry Potter, and he's made me cry more than once talking about his upbringing. In his case, it would be the "parental right" to try to beat the homosexuality out of their child (who was too young to understand sexuality at all), which was then reinforced when school

@Ding-Dang: I was very sick one morning, and after repeatedly vomiting, I was lying on the couch with a blanket and heating pad, trying not to die. My father walked into the room and put his hand to his forehead, "I think I caught what you have."
