I prefer amber in the rear lights too, but my 2013 MINI has red rear turn signals, unlike older models that were sold in the US. My sister's 2009 MINI has amber lights in the rear. Soon as I can, I'm going to install amber ones. That requires swapping out the light housing with a Euro spec one.
