This isn't as epic as some stories, but it's all I got:

I like that. I want to fly with you.

The best (worst?) thing a friend saw on his many, many business trips was someone who took off their shoes and socks and lifted their foot and proceeded to chew on their toenails. Apparently their mother did not give that person the gift of shame.

So they managed to monetize scabs? Perfect.

JEEZUS. My bowels would have been jelly. I thought the time my husband (then-boyfriend) had the best "finding coke" story when he found a baggie in a rental car he was cleaning (back when he worked for a rental car company). You win.

I was taught the metric system in jr. high in the late 70s, early 80s and looked forward to converting over to a system that made more sense. Sadly, our teacher didn't bother with the English system, and like you, I find it frustrating. I use metric at home, BTW.

We had a guy try the music scam on us in Jackson Square in New Orleans. He made a beeline for us and held up a CD and I told him "Nope." and kept walking. He then accused us of being unfriendly.

Thus Pedialyte and other electrolyte drinks in your grocer's baby aisle.

That automated scoreboard at 1:30—how awesome is that?

Now I'm itchy!

Can I join your barf-fest. These are all making me queasy. :-(

About 10 a.m. in downtown Austin one summer day and a woman just squatted and peed on the sidewalk as we walked by. This was not during SXSW.

I approve.

My sister's car got hit by lightning last spring. She was driving along in a storm and there was just a big flash. She said she screamed and then realized the car was dead (it was a hybrid, to boot) and managed to steer the car to the shoulder. It came in through the antenna in the back and exit out the trunk.

We paid off our house (15 year mortgage in 8 years) 5 years ago and it was like giving ourselves a huge raise. It was rough during those 8 years, but it was worth it. If one of us loses our job, we are worried about losing the house since it's paid for and we've managed to save quite a bit for emergencies. We drive
