Habitat for Huge Manatees.
All right! Let’s do this thing!
YESYES to all of these! With one minor change: If I were going to adapt Connie Willis for TV, I would go for blackout/all clear or to say nothing of the dog. Sorry about shirty typing. On the train.
A production group called Bad Wolf creating a TV series based on books by a person named Harkness.
This would be exciting if the books weren’t so completely dire. More so than Twilight it dives into wish fulfilment so hard that it splashes bits of wishes all over nearby book. Plus the world building was really unconvincing.
Is that APA referencing or are you just happy to see me?
As a young female faculty member, I’ll add my voice to the chorus here and say that this video is objectively horrible. You know what? Women in academia have a hard time being taken seriously. We (as well as faculty members of color, and doubly so for women of color) routinely receive worse student evaluations than…
I only saw one male student get that disrespectful with one of my lady professors. The whole class was like, “dude, come on, no...” and the tension was so thick, but then he persisted and just pushed her over the top in the middle of her lecture. She pointed at the door and said GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY CLASSROOM AND DO…
TBH the most upsetting thing about this video is the implication that we can control the thermostats in our offices.
But i just put money in the magic fingers!
Are you sure it wasn’t a girly scream?

Bad Blood is one of the best episodes they ever did, and was written by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan.
It’s a great episode. The premise isn’t silly at all when you consider how silly, even monsterous, actual HOAs can be.
The monster in ‘Arcadia’ may have been silly, but that episode remains among my top favorites for the performances by Anderson and Duchovny. It might be one of the funniest (and funnest) episodes of the X-Files.
Is... Is that a Tooms reference? If so, well done sir/madam!
