Nostalrius in no way cuts into the profits of Blizzard, and nearly everyone on the server would rather pay Blizzard money to have a few servers located within their region.

Don’t double down on my own parallel example to describe your situation. No, that wouldn’t be the same. HBO still offers those shows. Blizzard doesn’t offer Vanilla WoW.

Current WoW is a shadow of its former self. People would be willing to throw millions of dollars at Blizzard to play on a Vanilla server and they won’t do it. Nostralius will be back up within some time, albeit by a different group of people. There are already other Vanilla servers out there.

They don’t want to play those games. There are 150,000-800,000 people who would pay $15 per month - so at least 2.250 million dollars a month, 27 million a year - to play vanilla WoW. I know I would. They’ve decided against that.

I spent a weekend on Nostalrius (last weekend actually) and most people just wanted old WoW back. The amount of time it took to play the game compared to now is insane, and the one person I met who liked it only because it was free seemed like a huge idiot.

They also claim the new expansion pack will be worth playing but if it’s anything like Wrath of the Lich King or beyond, *fart noise*.

They’re playing Vanilla WoW, which is 6 expansion packs ago. I actually set up a character there last week for shits and giggles and considered playing it on the weekend or when bored. I’m not going to pay $15 a month to play the current iteration.

Sort of funny, given that just last weekend I was looking for old WoW Vanilla servers and made a character there. I was considering taking it further but, nope.

I’m somewhat friendly with some members. Cool dudes. And their live performance kicks ass. They’ll be on a very small tour soon enough as well.

She doesn’t have any agency. She’s fictional. Everything about her was decided by other people. Her wearing yoga pants isn’t some sort of excuse like in real life. That the camera was behind her is also by design. There’s no camera man who happened to be in some position when a picture was taken.
