It does surprise me how proud some people are that they haven't read any of the books. What do they want, a cookie?

My Dad will be 80 this July. From Goblet of Fire onwards, I bought two copies of each book: one for his birthday, one for me. We both loved the whole series, as did my sister…and our children!

What interests me is that if the can were made from a slight stiffer material, it would last long enough that the vacuum would suck water up into the can rather than imploding it. Are there cans which are tough enough for this?

Also semi-apocryphally, the heavier quarks have at various times been known by alternative names: "Sideways", "Centre", "Truth" and "Beauty". While I have been able to track down confirmation of the latter two, I am still looking for where I heard the former two many years ago!
