I really wanted to like Black-ish. Overall, it's a good show but there were hints of misogyny and homophobia that got me to let it fade from my DVR list.

I am constantly disappointed that there isn't a major, national owl-themed restaurant chain. Albuquerque has The Owl Cafe chain but the owl imagery is just on the buildings and based on having eaten there I really wouldn't expect them to expand nationwide.

I figured it was reality TV Horatio Alger, where the kind and virtuous employee are rewarded for their years of hard work after a chance encounter with the right person. Don't stop working hard, plebs, you never know when your CEO will randomly sign up for a reality show and end up visiting your store. It's a better

Sadly, cable is for avoiding stuff like this. You just need an antenna (and a local affiliate) to watch Undercover Boss. But with cable you get to decide to watch Orphan Black instead.

Having worked in food service, I was once at a grocery store when the system started giving the cashier problems. I tried to lightened things by saying, "Ah, the ironic name of the Point of Sale system." Her first reaction was to snap, "It's a Piece of Shit that's what it is." and as soon as she finished saying it,

That's okay, Rick Perry will probably also run to make Jeb seem like the reasonable middle ground on the issue.

In 2011, he seemed to be running for the "Next in line" spot than the actual nomination... and the GOP has a weird history of respecting the "Next in line" spot.

When I was younger, I actually adored the name Scarlett but that was probably because I used to listen to a lot of radio serials as a kid and Scarlett sounded like the name of a woman who would reliably help the detective solve a case or be the informant that leads him into a trap.

On the bright side, the Shift programs are supposed to be used to make segments for the daytime shows.

She also had her brief moment where she expressed her opposition to marriage equality but then her manager reminded her that she has many fans whose lives are worse for not being able to get married.

Also, adoption or other methods usually take a lot time and work. So a lot of gay parents have had a lot more chances to think about it. (It's also stressful so if your marriage can't handle a child, that will probably come out in the process.) If we made it as easy to avoid unplanned pregnancy as we made it hard to

The funny thing is a decade ago Taco Bell was deep in the hole a lot of fast food chains are, when they introduced 59 cent tacos, they became the place that only had cheap junk and their customers could not be convinced to switch to higher quality items. (They tried going healthy in the late 90s with a line that

While I agree with your overall point, when Beast Boy first appeared as a Titan he was presented as the kid sidekick to the Doom Patrol, though he was forced to emerge from their shadow by circumstance.

I don't think the realism of sidekicks will be an issue. The original announcement just mentioned Nightwing, Raven and Starfire, so Nightwing would be the only former teen hero. (That does seem like a small team, though. It might be all a TV budget can handle.)

Yeah, I read the opening and immediately went "Dufuq? Are we trolling for comments?"

Morris melts into that role so well I'm always surprised when someone reminds me he plays Jackie Childs.

Based on what we saw in 2008, I don't believe Clinton can win. She had that effective moment before the NH Primary but every time I see her talking about the issues she just sounds too practiced, the cliche of the politician, too practiced and not very genuine. She can only win if the Republicans find someone who is

The big problem with trying to automating the kitchen is that major US fast food marketing is based on trying to grab customers' attention or jumping on new food trends by introducing new products. Sure, you can make a device to make a custom burger... but can you predict all the various new ingredients marketing

My favorite small chain was a chicken place called Koo Koo Roo, too bad it never reached any city I lived in.

No. It isn't. If you pay a little more than minimum you get much better employees than your competitors, your business runs more efficiently, you save money on training and you end up with customer loyalty.
