The KC-135 needs to be replaced. They were built from 1956-1963 and they are showing their age. I work on them for a living at Tinker AFB.
Also to note. The depot maintenance will be done at Tinker AFB at the Oklahoma City ALC. They are going to build new hangers on the north side of the old GM plant on the south side of the base which Tinker AFB has taken over and is now Bldg 9001 which is also be the site of the P&W F135 engine depot maintenance…
Proabably like the Space Shuttle. Hydrazine was used as a fuel for the maneuvering thrusters is toxic.
I wonder what the flash of light hitting the tank is just before the Hellfire hits the tank is.
Yes, but not all Hellfires are laser guided.
Ok, first off. I got a story. I have been too that Air Base. I did some network project there. I over heard some German pilots talking about beer. They thought Coors was good beer. I was like WTF! LOL!
That was down to 61kph/37mph looking at the speed meter.
The lesbian tag with the Subaru was only with the Forrester. Not all Subarus.
Too bad we got rid of the F-14D. Nothing a squadron of them can't take care of carrying 6 harpoons a piece. F-18 can probably carry 4.
I would worry about Russia or China when it comes too carriers. Only two between the two countries and only one is operational. They also don't have the know how and experience of carrier combat ops like the US, UK and France which goes all the way back to WWII. It's just like their 5th gen fighters, they have a long…
Mr Rogoway, the new Ford class is suppose to operate at a less cost then it's predecessor, the Nimitz class, to operate it. One of the main features is the new magnetic cat system over the outdated and more costly steam cat system. Overall it is designed to be have 30% less maintenance over its lifespan.
My 2000 2.5RS SCCA ITS/ NASA PTE racecar.
see my post above
It's now run by Boeing.
Some where I still have photos inside and outside building(Hanger) 375 at Kelly. It's the largest freestanding hangar in the world.
Probably in for depot maintenance. I used to work on them at Kelly AFB when it was still open at building 375. That is what they would look like in the hanger. Once in the hanger. They would put them up on jacks and remove the landing gear for overhaul.
No, just a C-5B, it has the old engine. The M has CF6's and not the old TF39's.
