I feel like this article is mostly snark and not intended to be seriously replied to, so I’ll just ask: how long have the evil executives of both Big TV *and* Big Projector Screen had you in their back pocket, Alex?

I have a tough time with 100% villain. I love what he has done with the WaPo. I hate the treatment of warehouse workers, but how did any of us think capitalism was going to end up?
Came here specifically to say this! His writeup on FOOF is priceless
Isn’t Disney just doing these live action movies so they can keep the IP and renew the patent? Surely these characters are worth more in merch and theme park related stuff than a single movie will profit?
I’ve always thought China Mieville’s novels were pretty good examples of fantasy worlds that have been fast-forwarded to modern day...like...the magic is there if you look for it, and other races walk the planet, but we all need cell phones, y’know? Perdido Street Station in particular is a great example.
Then you, like me, are mixing a known carcinogen with a now-we-are-pretty-sure-its-a-carcinogen...and smiling all the way.
I quit 1.5 seasons ago and feel my decision vindicated with every recap I read. I used to be a massive fanboy and I’m not even mildly interested anymore. That has never happened with any other TV series I’ve loved...ever. So sad.
C’mon. I *love* Terry Crews, but the man can’t act in a dramatic role. He knows how to mug at the camera, deliver a well timed comedic line, and flex like a mofo. Lets run a thought experiment...can you imagine him in any role in The Color Purple?
Kavanaugh is a massive domestic tragedy and deserves the airtime. (The story, not the man.)
I’m terribly sad to report that you aren’t missing much. I wanted to love this movie so hard, and I did right until the 2nd/3rd act transition...and then the stupid begins. Hard. So stupid it ripped me out of my suspension of disbelief and had me hating the movie and rooting for the bad guys.
That’s not what I took away from that scene at all. They clearly showed his recently-deceased wife in the ditch next to him...I thought it was clear as day that he was simply tired of living this way and wanted to let out a final scream.
And look what you did. LOOK WHAT YOU DID. Unleashed more pearl-clutchers on me! sheesh!
I feel like we are saying the same thing, except you *seem* to imply that external support, if available at all, comes easily for a teenage mother?
So the very best you’ve got for me is a hollow name-calling response? That’s it? Not even a badly sourced link to a story about some teenage bride/mother who LOVED being pregnant and not a single bad thing happened to her ever and now she is a PhD and getting the Nobel bio-awesomeness prize for inventing a vaccine for…
We agree completely- parenthood sucks universally. It sucks even more when you don’t have a job and are still (supposed) to be in school.
Gosh you proved me wrong. Oh wait, the text of your reply actually proves me right: “managed to overcome adversity.” You mean adversity that would have never existed had she finished her degree first and *then* had the kid? Yep.
I’ve got news for ya pal - women having children young is bad. I guess you missed that memo.
Great nic - ridiculous comment. Also, forgive the necro-post...someone else necroposted my original post, I responded, blah blah blah and here we are.
I’m confused - are people now allowed to make any life choice whatsoever without other people even being allowed to point the negative ones out or discuss them? You know that teenage pregnancy is a negative thing, right? This is not simply a matter of opinion. It may turn out ok for everyone in the end, with an…
Holy necro-posting. I was out of the country when chaos descended on this post 4 years after it was made- how did it show up? What the hell happened? And damn are you right- so many people eager to be offended at the obvious...
