It stays lit forever? You're telling me this man created an inexhaustible fuel source??? Then he should probably be a Nobel Prize winning nuclear chemist instead of a product designer!

Remember the Maine!
First time this unfortunate, hulking glass monstrosity has looked nice
I might be able to take you seriously if you were just saying the Steam Machine was stupid.
Bourbon...world's best whiskey? Now you are trolling.
That's because the older the onion, stronger the bond you make with it.
ha. Yeah, it's definitely an option(and great for some bosses). I was just disputing the "Should Always" part. ;)
Basically, notice how their uniforms are all black, but the sky is bluish black in the fotoforensics analysis? They should be more similar if it were all one original photo. For comparison, I uploaded this image I altered a while back: http://fotoforensics.com/analysis.php?i… I added Galactus to the image and you'll…
Actually, despite the fact that I LOVE bacon (so much so that even typing this makes me get drooly) I don't eat it, or any other pork product, because to me it would be like eating a dog. Pigs are cute, but more importantly they are damn smart and sensitive.
Actually, no. Sentience is a concept from the philosophy of consciousness. It's true that it's not as simple as perceiving of feeling things but you are being misleading in positing the "specialized definition" as being from cognitive science. Without defining subjectivity this whole conversation is askew. Sentience…
Don't bother, Omega is one of those. Any time an "animals aren't just bags of meat with mindless robotic programming installed" article pops up around these parts, you'll be sure to find Omega and a few others popping up to tout the 'humans are uniquely unique' position.
I think it's a bit on the arrogant side of people to insist that at least some animals out there don't have emotions, and that this is some sort of revelatory thing. Anyone who's grown up with dogs can clearly see they are very emotional creatures, driven by things beyond meeting their immediate needs.
A lot of dogs get attached to children, who don't provide food, water, or shelter. So I guess that disproves the claim that dogs only care about providers.
Again, science reveals humans aren't special. Again, fragile human egos will dismiss the evidence.
But how do those skeptical people argue that the same can't be said for children?
I know the focus right now is on how this is going to impact how we treat dogs, but I'm more interested in how this is going to change how we treat children. Can we now extend leash laws to cover them too? Please?
I think a lot of dog lovers, myself included, have always though something along these lines. I'd even say dogs are even better at listening and remembering what they've learned than a lot of children.
What pigs have you been looking at? Pigs are adorable!
Cats are way ahead in the game:
There are dogs with more "personhood" than some people I know. That doesn't say much.
