Yeah, this movie was great. I feel like it was a real shout out to those who love Star Wars. Played the games, from the tabletop to the consoles/PC, read the books, deep dived every comic book...this was for us. I can’t get over how sweet this movie was! Rey and Kylo’s scenes were intense!

She comes from nothing, unlike another Force user we met back in Episode I... So the Force called to her, how is that a bad thing? It’s just trying to find that balance. I would have liked her to be a Kenobi but whatever, I really liked this outcome as well.

I can’t believe they killed off Snoke in the middle of the fucking movie and then had Kylo Ren take over the entire First Order. That is such a ballsy move.

This was one of the least predictable movies I’ve seen this year and I loved it. So, which twists got you guys?

I’m still processing how utterly and surprisingly different this movie was but I think, maybe, it’s good. Obviously the themes here are that things “are not going to go how you are expecting them to”, and that you need to “let the past go.” I feel like Rian Johnson is talking to us, the lifelong diehard Starwars fans,

Fans pre-Dec. 15:

I think he was telling the truth actually, mostly because if the last scene. The peasant boy is a nobody, who force pulls the broom to him and pretends it’s a lightsaber. The next generation of Jedi are nobodies.

I agree with some of your negatives, though I’d argue Snoke getting snuffed was a brilliant moment because the way it was done was amazing, Kyo’s mind was essentially being read, but he used it to his advantage, just brilliant subversion, not to mention you wouldn’t expect a big bad to be snuffed out like that. It

Did everyone notice those Jedi books in the Millennium Falcon at the end?

This is the correct take. Talk about amazing design.

Funnily enough, I loved this movie for the exact same reasons you hated it, my dude

I’m surprised and disappointed by the amount of negative fan reaction, especially in comparison to TFA, which I also enjoyed but was a much more flawed film.

I dont know if what Kylo said about Rey’s parents was the truth, but I like it. I like the fact that she is not actually “somebody’s” kid, that she doesnt have a big connection. She has her talent, but her parents were nobody. Some randoms that sold her off for Drug money. It kinda feels better than her being Lukes

So my theory is that Episode IX will start maybe 5-10 years in the future. Leia has died of old age, and Poe is running whatever the Resistance had evolved into (the New New Republic?). Meanwhile, Rey is running Jedi Hogwarts/Xavier’s.

Loved it. Good subversion of the Hero’s Journey while actually making all that bullshit about balance mean something (Rey and Ren are balanced in a way that no other light/dark pairing in Star Wars has ever been).

Visually stunning, Johnson has a great eye for how to use color and light (when Laura Dern went up to

It’s confirmed: Michael Mando is playing Mac “The Scorpion” Gargan in the movie

I really don’t mind after these long police chases that endanger everyone else on the road if a guy gets a little beat down. I have no idea why, but it’s the only time I kind of revel in it.

I haven’t seen it and I haven’t even seen the trailer. It would kind of like be asking me, “Do you want to watch your ex-girlfriend have sex?” Like, “No, I’m good.”

I don’t see much of a dilemma. Colleen is perhaps the best thing about Iron Fist and the Sand Snakes are perhaps the worst thing about Game of Thrones.

I don’t care what anybody thinks, I love this show and can’t wait for this season to finally start.
