Russian engineering philosophy and technique is quite different than Western. When it works the item is usually better for the cost. An example is computer chip design. But when Russian engineering fails, it fails big time.

It depends on two factors. Size of the thruster and fuel flow (in this case Xenon). The faster the fuel flows the greater the torque but it's several factors less than chemical rockets. About 1000 to 10,000 times less I think.

I thought Prometheus was the better story simply because it required multiple viewings and intelligence to understand what was happening. Not to say District 9 wasn't good. I'd put it on par with Bladerunner but the subtleties of Prometheus was astounding.
