Gender Dysphoria in transgender people is a condition which is treated by correcting false gender markers and providing them the means to identify with their correct gender (aka a transman is a MAN, a transwoman is a WOMAN).

This is a late reply but I want to sincerely say, if you’re assuming an innocuous term like ‘laypeople’ is arrogant, despite being highly qualified for whatever you choose to do, maybe you are dealing with some imposter syndrome/professional envy stuff? That can be a real challenge for people in creative fields…
