There weren't a ton of people getting rich off of global freezing. No. Sorry, but as a relic of the '70s, the whole earth chilling thing wasn't about it actually happening, but the pop-culture reaction to the scientific studies that showed that ice ages could come on rapidly—50 years instead of thousands of years—that the transformation wasn't gradual.
Whether it's worse than we thought, or better than we thought, I don't think there's anything wrong with making our planet "healthier". Such thought patterns carry over into other areas of life, and improve humanity.
