Dont we already have Neutron Bombs?
Self-assembling nanomachines, of course. Best way to turn the Earth into a ball of tiny robots. Oops.
Also, this idea of completely engineered people? Yeah, that's all fun and games until some bored wage-slave mixes MMA assassin into your high-end pleasure bot.
Look. We need to have a talk about this whole flying car thing. I mean, yeah, it's iconic, it just screams, Future, bitches! Everyone from Marty McFly to the Jetsons has one in the future. But...I mean, we have to be serious here.
It's right there in the name, really.
One day, Cruithne could be a practice site for landing humans ...
Pluto orbits way outside the ecliptic:
No. No, it wasn't. It was incredibly cringe-inducing. Can you say "purple lightning"?
I wish I could get that 30 minutes of my life back, I could have been sleeping.
They're not trying to appease the fan base. They're trying to make a deal with Sony or whoever will pay for the rights. This is about making money from selling rights, not actually about making a Wheel of Time show/movie.
what's sad about all this is that because of greed etc... we probably wont ever see this go on to be made.
Suing the widow of a beloved author. That's just the way to get the fan base on your side!
The Magna Carta marks its 800th anniversary, and the four surviving O.G. copies are currently being displayed together for the first time at London's British Library. "The birth certificate of democracy" contains the groundbreaking declaration that no one (including the king) is above the law.
Is there anyone who _doesn't_ think the world and it's inhabitants would be better off it we had chopped down a few less trees?
I remember and love Weekly Reader!
I just can't wait to see Charon revealed as a Mass Relay.
Pluto/Charon is going to be so absolutely cool, but I can't focus on them yet, not with Ceres coming in just six or so weeks.
I have to say, I will be 53 by the time New Horizons gets there, but I have to say, I can't wait. I remember back in 1979, when I was in 11th Grade I had read a Weekly Reader that showed a photograph of what was supposed to be the discovery of Charon (looked like Pluto was about 4 months pregnant :).
And we find that Pluto and Charon are linked by a tether...
Bet the first thing that'll happen after we reach Pluto will be Fox News going 'Why do we need a space program?'.
