Initial deal occurred remotely when the buyer agreed to fly to LA to meet the seller. Buyer found the ad online. International Shoe. Minimum contacts. Wasn’t restricted to local sales only. He availed himself to buyers from out of state.
Perhaps I’m being an ass, but I think he should file in NY and go through the whole jurisdictional/long-arm fight. Make it that much more daunting for the seller. (CO Atty here).
