I watched from S2E03 to S3E07 in one day. I don't regret it one bit.
Even then, they are to pro hockey what southerners are to pro football. They actually lost their original NHL franchise because they'd rather watch high school hockey.
He's a tennis fan who gets bitter no one wants to read his shit about tennis, then takes it out on the Leafs and Jays.
DETROIT FAN IN FOOTBALL SEASON:
Basically, the only thing that doesn't lose in Detroit is Little Caesar's Pizza and the subsidiaries that it owns.
Sounds about right. The Star basically only ever gets pagehits out of two things: (1) trolling the Leafs, and; (2) talking about Rob Ford (incl. co-opting other peoples' stories as 'exclusive'). The Toronto Star Sports section (alongside the Sun) is fit to housebreak a puppy. That's about it.
But I'm sure LOTS of Patriots fans put their shirts on right arm first....
We need an addendum on the t-shirt policy from 'right arm' to 'dominant arm'; we lefties start off left arm first.
"She thinks *this* is how badly the Redskins treats their fans? Well, damn; I've gone soft." -Dan Snyder, probably.
I umped home plate for a few innings in my slo-pitch game last night (rules in our league are you ump when your team bats). I got to call three strikes on my buddy, and not just three normal strikes. It was the most intense strikeout ever; he nearly did a 360 on every swing.
Yep. Had this happen to me once in Gr. 12. I called a girl I had a crush on (who most definitely had nothing even close to a crush on me) with the intent of telling her this and asking her out because I was an idiot when I was 17. Anyways, I called her home phone and her mom answers because she's out. Then she asks:…
Yeah, I'm a Toronto (and Bills, BUT NOT BECAUSE OF THE STUPID TORONTO SERIES) sports fan in BC, and find the same thing. Saturday nights are great because I can watch the Leafs play on HNIC, it's done at 6:30-7, at which point I can proceed to go drinking the rest of the night if I want.
Yeah, I'm a fan of an east coast team in the west, but I also live in BC, which is Seahawks territory, so I luckily don't run into the double market Raiders/Niners issue.
I omitted NFL because it's easier to commit to watching entire games at 10 AM or 4 PM on a Sunday than it is at 4 PM or 10 PM on a weeknight.
'(d) you have no way of Tivo/PVR-ing games, you can only watch them directly.'
If you had to choose one, would you rather: be a fan of a NHL/NBA/MLB team based in the West while living in the Eastern time zone, or a fan of an Eastern team while living in the Pacific zone? (I'm omitting NFL for obvious reasons)
Good. It's embarrassing to have a franchise named because Jurassic Park was big when you got your team. Also, might as well fall into line with the blue/white colour scheme of the other Toronto sports teams.
He tipped 13%. You know what 2% of $77 is? $1.54. So, basically, Melky came $1.54 short of what would be considered the consensus for 'acceptable tip.' If he was just doing the math in his head, it would probably be an easy mistake to make (though I try to high-ball tips to avoid this).
I think it just means stoppages and commercials. I say this as a Canadian and lifelong hockey fan, so my opinion IS biased, but there's some truth to it. In hockey, there are maybe 2 TV timeouts a period; that's six in-game commercial stoppages in a regulation game. I love the NFL, but good god, that obligation to…
