“just patch in...” in this case probably means major rewrites of the game engine. that’s just not going to happen for all but the most incredibly supported games. I doubt that the Crash Bandicoot Remastered Trilogy falls into this category.

As a longtime rider for FFXII, I am ELATED that this version is coming out and getting its proper due. To this day, I’ve never been as completionist about a game as this one.

I think part of the hate for gambits is that you unlock the different parts of them bit by bit, and your total commands are limited at the start, and so at the beginning you are still sort of stuck micromanaging or relying on the AI to simply auto-attack. I get that increasing the gambit size / complexity over time…

It’s simple, regardless of whatever crap Nintendo tries to piece together, there is no “Zelda Timeline”. It is not a thing. Each game is a re-imagining of previous games, just like Mario.

This is exactly what I was going to say. It’s hilarious that Jason is hailing the gambit system as a positive when I distinctly remember everybody making fun of this game for having it back when it came out. “The game plays itself!” or something similarly reductive.

Except it’s NOT a single-player MMO. It just seems that way until you really start playing around with the Gambit system and coming up with creative combinations to destroy enemies.
