"if an aggressor gets within visual range of an F-22, due to rules of engagement, a breakup in the mission plan, mistakes made by a F-22 pilot, or just the fog of virtual war,"
Here are two more photos posted on the Audi TDI club, by user Dannyboy. Here's his description.
I would like to thank Jalopnik and Chris Perkins for this award. Being No.1 is special.
if you read up on the landing technique, they basically have to stall the thing just to get reach terra firma.
First thought after reading "gunfight": Ahh, 'murica! freedom guns blazin and the wild west! yeehaw!
Had one of these at an airshow at McChord, about ten years ago. They made a deal with a local Chevrolet dealer to use at the time C5 Corvette a chase car. Once the U-2 landed, they setup a whole display with the car and the plane. It was pretty cool!
Question about the rotating core, is that an InfernalRobotics part? i cant seem to find it.
Is it possible to create a less advanced version in vanilla? Trying to stay away from mods until I 'git gud'.
Thank you for your answer, this is truly an amazing design.
Hi, craft builder here and 'baconspaceprogram' on youtube.
The key mods are B9 aerospace for the spiffy sci fi like cockpit, B9 procedural wings for custom wing shapes, and F.A.R. for more plausible aerodynamic physics. F.A.R. actually makes things more difficult to fly but offers more control over the monitoring of…
Do keep in mind I am using a cinematic camera mod, and the speed differential between camera 'platform' and craft is 1 meter per second and the zoom is relatively high in some perspectives. Thus it will look like it is 'hovering' or moving very slowly.
The same effect can be observed whist driving in a car and…
Hi, I am the craft builder, and baconspaceprogram on youtube. Thanks for your comments on the issue. I am really curious about the rotor torque or lack thereof as well.
Hi, Baconspaceprogram here.
Indeed I wanted to ascend through the thicker part of the atmosphere demonstrating the rotor lift of the "Triebflugel", but execute the transition to horizontal flight about 10,000 ft to demonstrate fixed-wing mode. I thought to leave the rotor bearings unlocked because the rotating section…

Ah, sorry. Yeah, a counter-weight system would look awesome too. But one of the things that KSP does unrealistically is the whole SAS system. It's a bit too powerful for it to be realistic. I suppose they just just took license with that.
It should be noted that this is not made from all vanilla part from the game, he used some mods which he list on the Youtube description and even includes a link to download the craft.
I'm talking about at 1:00 though. The thrusters aren't pointing at the ground and no way those wings are generating enough lift to maintain altitude at that height.
I'm kinda skeptical at how there's no counter thrust as well to offset the rotating force generated by the rotating blades to keep the craft from spinning…
You don't see the artificial horizon, so most likely the high angle means that the engines are compensating for the falling action. So essentially it's climbing, but not as fast because it's compensating for the falling action. Try KSP, fantastic game. This stuff suddenly makes a lot more sense after like 100 hours…
How the heck does it stay in the air going so slowly with no upwards thrust?
