Scott Pilgrim soundtrack had some 8-bit versions of some of the songs. And I believe Daft Punk released a whole slew of 8-bit versions of their tracks for free.

Definitely a great thing about Steam Machines being made by various 3rd parties: We get lots of crazy/sexy looks.
Obligatory for every Elder Scrolls mod thread:
What that little box quote tells me is that the publisher model is going to go. Developers are going to start operating independently more, because then the first week sales isn't the be all and end all of whether they keep their jobs.
Which core gamers are you referring to? Because you'd have to discount Dota 2 players, TF2 players, and CS:GO players at the very least for that remark to ring true.
Ah, I'd forgotten about Alien Swarm, hence why I said past three years as I thought a year was skipped :)
I think personally, the only way that would go down comfortably is if you paid off that debt anonymously somehow and never brought it up with said friend (perhaps you could even convince the payee to tell said friend that they decided to wipe the bill because special prize/mistake in our calculations etc) Ignorance is…
But doesn't this all boil down to 'well it's because they aren't making the game I want them to?' I'd like to see HL3 too, but I'd be terribly disappointed if they released something just because fans demanded it, as opposed to releasing a game they know is ready.
Id' rather the cliffhanger than something half-baked, though.
I really don't understand the sneering I read in comment-threads on Valve-related articles saying things like 'they used to make games' (they've made a new one every year for the last three years), or 'they only make hats now' (and games, and new OS/consoles, and peripherals, and modding tools). No one in the PC…
Except that would be using it out of context. 'Being offended' is not the same as being racially abused. There are very definite lines being crossed, and I'm sure we all know where they are really, even if some like to pretend they don't and that it's 'safer' to just be policed on everything we say.
Valve did develop Dota 2 (the lead developer was the Dota modder, hired by Valve, at which point development on Dota 2 began), and co-developed CS:GO if you want to be pedantic.
Dota 2 only came out in July this year, and CS:GO came out last year. Portal 2 the year before that. One a year for the last 3 years is hardly resting on laurels.
It is. 'Swatting' if you look it up, has got people 11 years in a federal prison before.
Well, it's good enough so far that I'm already sticking Hard Reset and Rise of the Triad on my wishlist. Call of Juraz: Gunslinger was a close second for me, as well. I'm hoping some strategy titles blow me away in the New Year, as while it's nice to get back into shooters after quite a hiatus, It'd be disappointing…
Personally, having started playing Shadow Warrior only two days ago, I can say it's the most fun I've had in a videogame this year.
Doesn't leave a lot of time for a sale does he? One day? I could probably line up several buyers if there was more time. I live in Southampton as well.
Eurogamer have you got bang to rights on this one, IMO. Should've been Mario!
