It’s actually a pretty fascinating story, it just wasn’t included in the game as shipped. Bungie deserves a lot of credit for righting the ship...The Taken King is freaking fantastic.

I mean, 290 is the start of the endgame, so that makes sense. My biggest frustration is helmets. I cannot get a good helmet so I’m stuck using Saint-14 at 290. It’s really holding me back, and I’d like to switch over to Ruin Wings.

If even part of the game is “perfection” then it’s far from being a “shitty” game. I wish it wasn’t so trendy to hate on Destiny. I’ve played it since day one, and I’ve loved 95% of my time in the game. It isn’t perfect, but very few games are.

Watching a guy run at me from across the map, shurgging off my auto-rifle, pulse-rifle, or scout rifle, only to one hit shotgun me is a terrible feeling. The problem to me seems to really be in map design. Maps are either sniper or shotgun friendly. No in between.
