4wd for safety? Save that money, spend it on winter tires. At least as long as we still have winters.
‘autopilot’ means responsible drivers are less likely to crash, but idiots are more likely to crash ...
I think Kalanick is right, though. Still being a dick.
Essentially, it is a good car, just with a price tag that’s inflated by more than 30%.
The biggest carmaker in the world .... despite marginal US sales. They’d be better of without US operations.
Realistically though, the world market requires fuel efficient cars, and eventually locally emission free cars. Even if there were no environmental rules in the US, manufacturers would not change the general direction of development. However, when it comes to factory emissions, this could invite some bad behavior.

make America grate again
Who cares about diesel anymore? Trump said ‘drilll baby, drill’, so lower gas prices ahead. No need for better mileage.
Yea, well, I don’t mind that aspect. However, just from an engineering standpoint, there are trade offs. You cannot optimize horsepower/speed, range and reliability. One aspect is going to suffer. Teslas run hot pretty quickly already if pushed, though average drivers will never see it. The FF, who often can it go…
If the future is all self-driving, why does 0-60 still matter? Which ‘autopilot’ will ever use maximum acceleration?
That tweet is enough reason for impeachment.
Just insert a picture of a fucking stupid redneck farmer from Southern Kentucky, and keep in mind that this is who you should be talking to, not some blog-reading latte-sipping liberals.
Great, more road blocks next to the fucking slow driving Camrys
Given that the cars need to be scrapped anyway, this is probably going to save VW some money.
