Phones sure, but in the past year, they have only released one computer, desktop or laptop. It’s up to the consumer to update their phones when they want. Many people I know wait 3 or 4 years for a new phone.

Many people don’t use cases. My M7 has lived three years with no case for example.
Yes and no. They tried it for one sequence. And the movie did fail - but that sequence was about the only thing people DID like.

Turn off the tilt sensor and the batter lasts quite a bit longer.
It drives me nuts that this thing is still listed as $100 (CAD). This thing is going on like the TI-89 - how is it still going for the same price 6 years after introduction?
It’s too bad they discontinued the 700. It was basically the same remote except you charged the batteries in the remote so you didn’t have to worry always changing them out.
The harmony hub is the way to go. Gives you a remote if you want it, or just the hub and your smart phone and you can save a couple of dollars. Works just as well as any universal remote, with the added bonus that I can turn down the volume downstairs when my daughter is testing whether she has hearing damage.
It should have come with a rechargeable battery and you just have to plug it up. Mine lasts for almost a month if I had to guess before recharging it. Try some and see what your results are. At the very least you won't have to keep buying batteries.
Actually, the harmony hub would be a far better choice. Use your smartphone as the remote and with IFTTT you can fire up all your AV stuff, PC, lights, AND unlock the door when you’re a block from your house.
