Got to dig those government benefits. Of course I taught part time in the US for 8 years. I didn’t get cheap healthcare until Obamacare kicked in.

He said per year. That’s like those charity commercials: For 5 cents a day, you could have healthcare!

Congratulations! For some reason I’m ungrayed on the kinja sites where I comment the least on, but not here. Oh well! Time to live it up.

I think that’s the packaging. You can kind of see where the plastic is distorted.

Yeah, I feel you.

As always, you’re welcome.

Yep.

Update from Germany:

And the Turkey situation has gotten much worse. This is a big deal, and I’m really surprised not to see much of it in the international press. Turkey detained some German activists. Here is some info from Deutsche Welle on one of the detainees (English text is on the left):

did anyone cover that Trump thinks health insurance costs $14 a year!

I’m not sure you understood my point. That’s probably my fault, as I made it flippantly. Cryptocurrency is crap as a staple currency. It does have some specific uses, and it makes a great high risk speculative investment in a very volatile market, but it lacks the regulation and government backing to make it stable

Woman behind the throne is a common trope, but here we’re talking about women ruling in their own right.

Hence why all the regional powers are claiming separate kingdoms (again). That and she broke the accords of feudalism by exploding her vassals (and thousands more).

Yeah, lot’s of people look at any government work or regulation and wonder about the red tape. 90% of the time, there’s a very damned good reason for that red tape. But the 10% makes the rest of it look so damned stupid.

Throughout Germany, chain restaurants are the exception. Walk 20 feet out of the train station, and find any restaurant on the street. It’s going to be individually managed and run. In Munich, I’d specifically recommend that you avoid the huge beer halls, and find a nice small restaurant with a beer garden and eat

Yeah, also WHY DON’T THEY USE THE DOOR LOCKS? for the love of god, just lock the door. There was so much time to lock the doors.

I would gues he’s referring to the limited number of coins that can be “minted.” They become more difficult to mint over time, and thus go up in value (more-or-less) over time. So the people in on it early make more money with much less work. Which is not exactly a ponzi-scheme. More of a pseudo pyramid scheme - that

Hey, you can be an enthusiast without being a whacko. No judgment there. Also, since you agre with some regulation, I wasn’t targetting you or your use patterns specifically, I was speaking to the people who want zero rules. Those are the whackos (In my mind anyways, you use the word how you want)

Hey, they could have called it Phlogiston, then your joke would have worked!

It indicates a weakness in law enforcement.
