I did not know what to expect from that video. I'm still not sure what I've just seen.

It's important to leave cash for your pets — if a family member takes them, you want them to have the wherewithal to care for them. If they end up at a "ranch" or something, those often require that you provide for the pets financially. $10K is not an outrageous sum.
