Living in a Caribbean country that is almost always guaranteed to be hit by a hurricane i can say this comfortably: move to the islands (any of them) let an islander teach you how to ride out a hurricane. eventually you start to not care about hurricanes weaker than category 3 beyond basic home reinforcement.
