Of course, meat is carbon neutral, ignoring the tractors, etc. All that carbon they produce came from plants, which came from CO2 in the air. The thing that makes cows so bad is they convert some of that CO2 into CO4, methane, which is a far worse greenhouse gas.

I was kind of surprised to see that no one mentioned that beef is one of the not-so-good meats to eat if you’re trying (as the US is) to reduce your per capita or national carbon emissions.

It’s a good time to talk about how our modern economy has made meat so affordable for so many people. It wasn’t that long ago that meat was a relative luxury even in the US.
