Entirely possible. I'm just an eternal optimist.

No doubt that Epic is greasing the palms. But as the article says, competition often isn't friendly.

It’s early days for the Epic Store so we'll see. I'm just glad someone is giving Steam a wake up call.

Oh, I agree. I'm under no illusion that they are doing this to make a profit.

Maybe I am you *cue scary music*

As stated in another response below, being exclusive to a PC game store is not the same as a console exclusive, since you don’t have to pay hundreds for the store launcher.

Maybe they might even start making games again.

What you say is true, but I’m hoping that the Epic Store will change that.  Big corporations don’t really need the extra revenue, but this could be a game changer for smaller developers.

Oh, I agree that putting up their game for pre-order and then doing an exclusive deal mere weeks before release is crap. I was trying to say that in my first sentence. If Deep Silver made this announcement months ago, I would be fine with this.

To get around that, you would basically have to require someone to have an account in order to watch anything on Twitch, which the company would never accept because it would cut a large chunk out of their viewership.

Even though Facebook is a sputtering toilet explosion in countless other ways, she wishes others would learn from its block system. “Banning needs to be more than ‘You just can’t talk in a channel,’ she said. “I wish it could be like Facebook, where if you block someone on Facebook, they don’t exist anymore. Here’s a fun game: watch Fox and Friends, then count how many rage strokes you have in an hour.

Not included in the ABC report, but still maybe relevant, is the staggering scope of studies that suggest being rich can inoculate one against feeling responsible for others.

I still have store credit from trading in games. I was hoping to put it towards the new model Nintendo Switch that’s being rumoured to come out in the latter half of this year. Now, I’m wondering if I should just use it now.
