The following is a rich person’s reaction when hearing about these struggling workers:

“People are afraid of her

Nothing is an issue until it hurts them personally.

Though Barr has said that he is not personally anti-abortion

Pfft. What has science ever done for us?

To be fair, it’s not all PC codswallop, but given the social justice warrior jargon throughout, I suspect this is mostly about psychologizing the gelding of American males.

[I meant to post this under your thread] Let’s not kid ourselves that this whole event did not have any effect on women who game (particularly online). I think this reddit post sums it up best:

(wrong post, ignore this)

It’s not hard to apologize but AGAIN, but how many times must he have to say it? I mean, should we all just sit down and make an apology schedule for him to follow where every 5 years he must show up in the town square and issue an apology about the SAME STATEMENT?

Lol.  I was wrong about one thing, and right about another.  So simple a concept, yet you can’t understand that.  No need to say anything more.  Bye Felicia.

Yeah, about that. What I got “worked up” over was the sexist attitudes on display. It DOES NOT matter that Ellie was fake. It’s the attitude of so called fans. And don’t think it didn’t have any effect on female gamers:

If you read some of the tweets and posts out there, sexism played at least some part.

Oh my god I’m so sick of this.  Yes, I admit that I was wrong about Ellie being real.  No, I am NOT wrong about calling out the sexism and harassment that surrounded this whole issue.

I know.  I’d just be surprised if he weren’t sentence to a bit of time in the slammer.

You know what, considering what he said, maybe he does have to apologize for the rest of his life. Considering how absolutely awful and homophobic his “jokes” were, that might be the price he has to pay if he wants to continue being rich and famous.  If I were in his position I’d just suck it up and do it.

Exactly! And I’m pretty sure Kevin Hart is celebrity-enough where he has people who can just say it for him. It’s even easier!

I think you’re going a little overboard here. There will always be “asshats” out there, but I’m pretty sure that if Kevin did what you said

I am more than willing to admit that I was wrong about Ellie being real. I’m still not wrong in calling out the sexism and harassment that surrounded this whole issue. So let’s leave it at that.

In all honestly, his attitude just reeks of laziness and/or pride. For example, Jason Momoa made a rape joke a few years ago at a comic convention, and he apologized for it. A year or so ago, the subject of that joke was brought up again, and you know what Jason did? He apologized again. If Kevin has to apologize now,
