I don’t think vulgar is the term you meant to use. Vulgar means common, unrefined, unsophisticated. Maybe obscene? Repugnant?

So people don’t know how to make friend these days? That would be a great idea for an essay or something. Contrast that to, say even the early 2000's (before Hot or Not became a dating service, and Yahoo Personals was just starting up).
