Oh damn that is gorgeous. I immediately checked eBay. I do this often...I'm often disappointed. Starting bid: 10 grand. Ouch. It is so beautiful though...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/197…

I believe Tesla also had the advantageous exposure of being "first to market" with a production all electric car of any significance.

You talking about the new ones? Yeah, they're enormous. It's like they took a smaller cars body, blew it up 30%, and sunk it onto a truck frame. I understand the new SHO is pretty quick, but yeah, they're HUGE. The new Chargers/Challengers are like that too. The decidedly retro lines (best looking of the new retro

Good point, but I think the yacht refers more to the size.

This guy's face is unintentionally hilarious.

Basically the reason our Lemons team/car exists :)

1- I dunno. Engineers that design hybrid drivetrain systems for a living would certainly know the differences and "see the light" as you put it. To be fair, those engineers are probably not the ones calling the shots, but I would also find it hard to believe that the management is that naive.

While I agree, I want to read what others have to say about it. There has to be something we're missing. The developmental costs tied up in a system like the Prius' are HUGE. The controls complexity is enormous. You've also essentially added a second transmission to the mix. I don't see why mainstream automakers would

That would be great! I'm genuinely curious. I have a really broad understanding of the range extenders, but that's about it. The Toyota system might as well be black magic...I know it's not the most jalopniky post, but I for one would find it interesting.

What an awesome idea.

They're running on raw concrete, not a prepped drag launch surface. All the cars, even those with only 400-600 HP, have to take off gingerly.

Man, I was there last weekend. I saw this car in the grid. I had no idea it was the Hennesey car. It's tough to tell from the video, but the vinyl job looks like the cover of every Call of Duty game all plastered together and then onto the car. It's just full of dudes holding guns and rocket launchers and screaming,

I think many of the high end Mustangs are designed to be direct competitors to the Corvette, but the public doesn't throw them in the same league, so they're never compared.

Alright, well, "everyone in the world hates Saabs" is a lot different than "I really dislike Saabs, and the best one was a Subaru."

That linked video, pretty cool...but did they really have to use that music?

Nice. Maybe some MJ for Monday then? ;)

Man, guy can dance too. I'm a huge MJ fan, and always like seeing his influence in stuff like this, even all these years later. Had a pretty lasting impression.

Looks like that alpine replica doesn't come with air in its tires...some assembly required.

It is precise and controlled and the drivers are insanely skilled...but "far more" precise and controlled than what, circuit driving? It occurs at slower speeds and further under the limits of the entire car's handling. I would say circuit driving is still requires a bit more skill. It's definitely a completely

What are those guys doing with the little guns with the digital displays on the back? Looks like an IR thermometer maybe...but those cars are already littered with every type of sensor. Is it some kind of adjustment for the wing?
