Anyone ever read Poul Anderson's Tau Zero? Brief little novel about exactly this method of travel and what happens when the deceleration method breaks down. It's not the greatest novel of all time but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

And apparently you don't know what it means either. To be humble is to be deferential or modest about your achievements. Puffing out your chest about your achievements is not being humble. Claiming to be humble because you don't brag about a subject in which you have nothing worth bragging about is just stupid.
