Hmm, are you using the current version of the emulator? DX11 or DX9? Because you should definitely see those games with the shaders and upped res.

My face is maybe three feet away from my monitor MAX. Plus I use it for more than just Emulation of course, and you do realize that with PS2/GC/ and Wii you are able to upscale the internal resolution to 4K and beyond right?

My PC runs PS2/GC/Wii games all like a dream in 4K resolution. It's honestly the greatest thing imaginable.

I would not like to see Nintendo games on a touch screen only device. To me, part of a good Nintendo game has always been super tight controls and it would not be that way if we were fussing with virtual gamepads.
