actually they should spend time sweating it out in a sauna then rinse off in ice cold water.

so it's okay for you to insult my country but not for me to insult yours? Incidentally, my grandparents are immigrants from Norway and they have nothing nice to say about your country. I think it's a WWII thing, not sure.

all that tells me is that God created a world with natural rules. Just look at our universe, how perfectly everything fits together - and you want to tell me that's all an accident? Everything that is beautiful and wonderful about this planet is all some cosmic coincidence? No, this was planned. Maybe Christians

I agree

I'm living in the wrong state...

Nitpick much?

I think that's fair, and in all honesty any parent who would have issues with that sort of curriculum would be watching pretty closely anyways. All I'm saying is parents need to have the right to say "no I don't want my kid to study that." You can't force people to agree with your way of thinking, it's wrong.

this is a thing of beauty

I don't see it that way.

Right, well I'm pretty middle of the road and I say that no government has the right to tell me how to raise my children providing that they are in good health and not being abused. It's not about the "murica" bullshit, it's about an individual's rights.

that would fall under the category of physical neglect or abuse, that's different. That's the child's physical well being. I'm just saying the government or the schools or anyone else can't decide what is best for someone's kids, provided the children are not in danger or being neglected.

yeah, it is. That's exactly what it is. No government should decide what is best for someone's children, as long as the children are not being harmed. I'm not suggesting the kids should get a free pass if their parents opt them out of the course, I'm just saying parents should have that right.

that couple would fall under the category of abuse or neglect, that is not the same thing as saying "I don't want my kid studying this subject." And I doubt the vast majority of parents would take this option, most people are content to let their children study whatever the school teaches. I'm just saying that

fair enough. I'm just saying that no one but the parents should decide what is best for the child, until the child is of legal age and capable of deciding for themselves.

I'm down with this, can't wait to see this movie! It looks like a lot of fun!

when the student is 18, they can decide for themselves. Until then it's legally the parents' choice what their child studies. Which is as it should be.

it's not up to public schools to decide what is best for someone else's children.

I can't imagine that statistic is true. I don't know anyone who thinks that the sun revolves around the planet and I live smack dab in the middle of the Bible belt. However, the point is parental rights. Parents decide what's best for their kids, not the schools, not the government, not anyone else can make that

First of all, you're kind of an ass. There's no call for that kind of rudeness.

Parents should have the right to teach their children what they think is best. It's not for you to decide what is best for someone else's child. Would you like it if someone else decided YOUR child was better off learning something you didn't believe in?
