There is if you write a politics blog that relies on hot takes and gut reactions for its traffic.

Would like to discuss this, thanks!

Can you describe how you see things working in the Senate without the presence of a working filibuster?

Well thank you!

Madea vs. Jason: The Final New Nightmare?

You’re forgetting, when L.A. is turned into an island prison after the Big One of 2013, Snake Plisken will rescue the President’s daughter and then detonate atmospheric nukes that act as EMPs and send us back to the dark ages.

get a-flat to this, I think you meant.

Can we get a version of the Derek Rose Lion King Simba-and-Mufasa meme here?

Yeah. When we were young we used to have plenty of time to get mad at things without regard to context or counterargument... but nobody gave us a paycheck for it. The radio shock jock has metastasized into a million click-hungry blog posts.

You should also read “Lovecraft Country” (if that genre is your thing); the protagonist family are involved in the production of an equivalent to the Green Book, and the story is all about juxtaposing real-life Jim Crow horror with Lovecraftian Mythos-style horror (similar, in a way, to “Get Out”).

Does it seem like Mueller is really finished? Or is it more like Barr shutting it down and sweeping it under the rug?

In addition to the predictably tough opposition to MFA from the health insurers, we should be realistic about the role that messaging is going to play here. Check out Josh Marshall (TPM’s) recent write-up of differences in polling results for “Medicare-for-All” versus how specific pieces will be spun.

Ouch. I liked the Darkness! I wish there were more young rockers who could simultaneously rock and not fuck up their lives.

There are a handful of writers on this site who seem to do real work. There are a couple whose entire job is to generate Hot Takes. Sometimes they reveal their lack of experience a little too much and wind up sitting out a few days before their next article posts up. At least, I can remember that happening once

Hahaha I had the exact same reaction (see below!)

I got as far in that headline as “BRYCE HARPER MET” and then I started hyperventilating because I know this is the most hope I will have for the Mets this whole year.

It can be good, cruel fun to play on the whiteness complex of some Argentinians.

“Witch” has historically been used for both men and women.

I don’t know that you need to limit the writing just to Latinos, but certainly it would be good to have a Puerto Rican expert on call for script doctoring (and maybe they do? The article is only talking about an early draft).

I think lots of folks jumped right past most of the article and straight down into the comments

Why is Andy Samberg in this 1970's film?
