Ha, same here. I love horror stuff but the VR horror games get to me. With this one in particular my imagination starts going “But what if the ghost is in the real world right now but you can’t see because of the headset”. I don’t even believe in ghosts but my damn imagination is doing too much work.

I always wonder are fashion designers as pissed about all these bland ‘fashions’ as the rest of us. I feel like game developers are a bit annoyed at the bland cash grabs that Fortnite keeps printing money with.
Only a little annoyed, I mean it keeps people employed, keeps their engine affordable and gives them spare

I’m excited for Levar! I’ve been in a similar position where the job that seemed like the ideal situation turns out to have been just an illusion, but going for it and then letting it go opens an opportunity that you couldn’t have imagined.
I’ve been able to go from my worst ever job experience right into my best ever

Not huge numbers but it’s got folks talking about it and Twitch’s PR is probably dealing with more inquiries about the problems. I don’t think anyone expected this to make Amazon terrified, but it’s gotten more eyes on the issues and showed that it hasn’t gone unnoticed by a decent amount of their users and media

Wow, I thought this was gonna be about the time she got into hot water with her comments about polyamory. Thats the last controversy that I recalled, but the article was about so much more. Just makes me think “Wow so what else is out there”.

feel more like you’re playing Cities: Skylines than a true 4X experience.

I was a dozen hours into the game and was still mad about that bait and switch. If the game wasn’t still really freaking good it would probably have gone down in history as one of the worst decisions in gaming.

My tip is turn on God Mode immediately if this isn’t your usual type of game. That way you can start buffing it and turn it off later if you want.

Really wish I’d turned on God Mode sooner. Hades isn’t my kind of game but it’s done so well that I still enjoyed it, but I’m not patient enough for it or something. I still

Oh god, when I was 27 I think I made shitty and embarrassing cooking videos to get noticed. Sexist and racist tirades, not so much.

The irony though, the things he did to rile people up, get noticed and grab attention eventually worked, but, to well.

Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for my chance at Masterchef.

Eh, I noticed but didn't realize that was supposed to be some special cameo. Just felt like an actor doing thier job. If anything Waititi was the most interesting unexpected casting.

The game has some good bones but a decent amount of really annoying issues. I get the vibe though that most of those annoying issues are there on purpose, so that players will grind or spend money to buy collectible cards that will ‘fix’ the issue.

I fee like they took Left 4 Dead, broke it into monetizable chunks,

Nice I’ve been wanting a twin stick shooter with just this kind of style. My dream game right now is a twin stick shooter, with a squad, set in the Shadowrun world. That’s a pet project I’ll hopefully get back to someday down the road, so I love having a game like Ascent prove out how something like that could feel.

Oh wow, I just can’t look past how the game is mostly things you could get off of the Unity Assets store. I feel like I’ve seen and even bought that exact UI and VFX pack from the store. Well the characters look original at least.

Awesome, this very much excites me. Following Kotaku over the years has opened my eyes to how different the vibe of a site can be just by what articles and tone they encourage. So I can’t wait to experience the new direction Kotaku goes in.

Not surprised at all. I came across one of these a few days ago and immediately thought “Oh this is way to weirdly sexual to slip by”. It felt very fetishy, like a potentially normal thing that was being really sexualized. The rest of the streamers are getting around the rules by making sexy things less sexual, this

Oh wow, I’m kinda surprised they were putting in so much effort since the game had already been out for so long. Outside of bug fixes and server improvements I thought they were just sitting back and enjoying the sudden success.

This reminds me of when Flappy Bird blew up and the creator hated all the attention and

Yeah the chat just swapped between being useless and being horrendous.

I saw one moment where it became slightly distracted by a dog and the chaos calmed for a moment...but the dog eventually left and things went right back to chaos.

I was pretty sure the hot tub streams popped up because Twitch said people couldn’t wear swimsuits unless they were at a ‘pool’. Then once you say swim suits are ok, people can get away with almost anything being a swimsuit and anything you do looks more ‘interesting’ in a swimsuit.

Everyone flocked to them because of s

Oh wow, taking it way back to catch up on the series.
Definitely do it, the new ones deserve the hype. You could skip the older games and the story works just fine. It basically starts with “We heard you were good at killing demons...so could you go do some that and we’ll explain what’s going on later.”
