For some reason my reaction to that wasn't so much "WOW" as it was "GROSS".

Those plastic tires really are more "feature" than "bug".... because sealed concrete floor driftuuuuuu!

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY!

Electric Corvette... for some reason that just feels... right. I think it would be very much in character with the car, design intent and styling.

I dont believe there is anything nefarious going on here. The thing that makes Tesla work, at all, is their approach to design and manufacturing in the same mindset as a software company. Iterate rapidly, have a large potential product road map, a big vision, continually reallocate limited resources to the most

This.

He already had a 996 Turbo I think.

I've been told that the PCA track days are really fun and a great learning experience with their driver's education programs.

Doug, you have utterly convinced me that I no longer need a Ferrari, or anything else more exotic than the 997 I just bought from Carmax. Which is funny because your columns are directly responsible for me buying that el cheapo 911 from Carmax with a big fat warranty and I couldn't be happier... well, I should have

I'm in SF, but what you need to do is find the guy in a GTS that's saying the same thing as you, but about a GT3. Buy that guy's car and sell me your C2S. Problem solved!

Truth! The grip on a 997 out back is insane, even in the wet. I came from a BRZ, which is pretty much designed for sideways shenanigans. I would slide that thing around constantly without care. I haven't taken the new car to a track yet, but my impression of the 911 is that you can go really, really hard till about

*Sigh." I've only had mine a few months and I'm already pining after a C2S or C4s. Its amazing how the 911 bug bites.

Awesome! What year/model did you pick up?

Jeeeeeeeeezus. That's sickening how everything (the curbing launching his car, the slip angle of the orange Miata putting the upward spin of the rubber in contact with the blue Miatas side and the subsequent slide) conspired perfectly to make that happen.

This is how its done!

THIS! These things are a screaming deal (with one caveat). I just picked up an immaculate 997 C2 with 37k miles on clock. I mean look at the underside of this thing!

It would be kinda funny to actually have her sign the scratch.

Why does Jalopnik hate me?

This makes no sense in the context of the original question, but its so damn cool I'm voting for it anyway.

Came here to post that. Its a post that recursion!
