I absolutely agree. If the measure of a good OS is the quantity of apps rather than the quality then go with Android. Ten times the apps equals ten times the craps. Proof? Android.

This is really great. Thank you. I just yesterday uninstalled Avast because of all the nagging and then installed AVG Free which I'm not entirely pleased with. Because these programs are free I just resigned myself to this behavior. I think I'm going to go back to Avast now!!

The rumor has actually been Chinese-whispered from the original source. Microsoft have a (alpha) version of Windows Phone 8 that will run as a new OS on Android phone hardware and with some interoperability with low-level android. Android make this possible by letting you root and install any old rom.
