Fewer games with better quality? Oh no, my boots and my limited schedule/money are shaking!
Fewer games with better quality? Oh no, my boots and my limited schedule/money are shaking!
EA seem to be referring to the quality of the content, while the suit is referring to quality in terms of functionality.
No the dangerous precedent is companies thinking they can put out flat out broken products and charge full price. Fuck that
What? So you think its fine to deliver a game that doesnt work? It also didnt work on the consoles as everyone who i have talked to said it was basically unplayable. At least on xbox 360 and ps4. Its insane how anyone could think that a company should be allowed to deliver a broken game. If they cant deal with the…
What lawsuits? See the thing is, Google would win every single suit. Firstly because they are rich and can afford it obviously. Second, because the content creators are in the legal right here. No questions asked. As long as the content falls under fair use, any company suing YouTube/Google has absolutely no legal leg…
I'm not stealing it at all, being as it's one of the most popular videos on the subject i think it's pretty obvious where it's from, especially considering it was posted here on Kotaku. I don't own a channel, and i am a fan of Joe's so this is a great example.
But don't worry, i'll credit him just for you lol
Well supposedly this whole Content ID mess has been so bad that the original owners now regret selling the site, so that says something. When you've made someone regret making millions of dollars, you done fucked up.
This. Everyone's pointing the finger at YouTube, and there's some validity to that, because they could handle this all a LOT better, but if anyone thinks they're happy about this arrangement, they're delusional. The music industry has pressured them into it big time, and with that, the less invasive but still asshole…
Now explain to us how how using 16 seconds of a Ministry of Sound track in a 30 minute review of Skyrim, that contains footage and music from the game, means that all of the revenue goes to Ministry of Sound. Not to the creator of the video, who wrote, performed and edited it. Not even to Bethesda, who owns a large…
I heard the original owner(s) of YouTube are frustrated at what YouTube has turned into.
I think that's when you need to realize you fucked up, when the original creator is disappointed in whatever the fuck you did to their website.
The music industry is simply the worst. To maintain their control, they've unleashed a dragon. They have an absolute hegemony on the 'piracy' debate, where we can actually witness people argue that fair use is a bad thing (because they don't realise it's legal), and of course we've seen a shocking ability to lobby so…
Translation:
Typical Youtube ever since Google bought them.
Youtube is either going to start backpedaling fast, or someone is going to usurp them soon. Sure it will be a growing pain for everyone if we have to switch, but creators won't take this lying down and us users will follow the creators.
Couldn't one of these well off Youtubers just take one of the claims to court? Right now everyone is just taking Google's/Youtube's/Content ID's word for it that these are legitimate copyright claims. Wouldn't one court ruling be able to define whether or not these claims are legit?
I don't want to sound like an idiot on this but maybe, just maybe, this service needs to be taught a lesson.
How? Stop using it. There are plenty of other video hosting websites that do not have this bot mess that can serve as a temporary platform while Google learns it's lesson. You also have Twitter/Facebook to…
I dunno, it's pretty easy when all the train-wreck videos are blocked on copyright grounds.
This whole YouTube thing is like a train wreck. It's so hard to not look.
Has Google commented on this at all yet?
